Privacy Policy

VERITAS is a news synthesis platform operated by NoxSoft Inc("NoxSoft", "we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a user.

1. Platform Nature

VERITAS is an AI-powered news synthesis platform. We aggregate information from publicly available sources, synthesize it into original articles using artificial intelligence, and provide conversational tools for exploring current events. VERITAS is not a news agency, publisher, or journalistic outlet.

2. Data We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your email address (used for account authentication and optional daily briefings). Accounts are managed through our centralized authentication service at auth.noxsoft.net.

Preferences

If you configure your preferences, we store your selected content categories, keyword interests and exclusions, minimum importance scores, and daily briefing settings (time and timezone).

Conversation History

If you are signed in and use the conversational chat feature, we store your conversation history to provide continuity and improve your experience. Anonymous users do not have conversations stored.

Usage Analytics

We collect anonymized usage analytics such as pages visited, features used, and time spent. This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify individual users.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Personalize content based on your category and topic preferences
  • Send daily briefings if you opt in to email delivery
  • Improve AI quality by analyzing aggregated usage patterns
  • Generate aggregate statistics to understand platform usage

4. Data Sharing

Your personal data is never sold. We do not sell, rent, or trade user data to any third party. Period.

We share data only with:

  • Anthropic-- for AI processing of chat conversations. Messages are sent to Anthropic's API for response generation. Anthropic's data handling is governed by their own privacy policy.
  • Email delivery provider -- your email address is shared with our email service provider solely for delivering daily briefings, if you opt in.

We have no advertisers. VERITAS does not display ads and does not share data with any advertising network.

5. Cookies

VERITAS uses Supabase authentication cookies only. These cookies are essential for maintaining your login session. We do not use tracking cookies, third-party analytics cookies, or advertising cookies.

6. Your Rights

  • Access and export your data -- You can request a full export of your data in JSON format at any time by contacting us.
  • Delete your account -- Account deletion is permanent and removes all associated data, including preferences and conversation history.
  • Opt out of emails -- You can disable daily briefings at any time from your preferences page or via the unsubscribe link in any email.
  • Update preferences -- You can modify your content preferences, topic interests, and briefing settings at any time.

7. Data Retention

  • Conversations are retained for 90 days unless you delete them earlier. After 90 days, they are permanently removed.
  • Preferences are retained until you delete your account.
  • Synthesized eventsare public content and are retained permanently as part of the platform's public record.

8. Children

VERITAS is not intended for users under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected data from a child under 13, we will delete that information promptly. (COPPA compliance)

9. Jurisdiction and Governing Law

VERITAS is operated by NoxSoft Inc, a public benefit corporation planning to incorporate in the state of Wyoming. This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of Australia, including the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. For material changes, we will notify you via email (if you have an account) at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Non-material changes (such as formatting or clarifications) may be made without notification.
